PREPARING THE PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCT FOR APPLICATION

Capreno® SC 547 should only be used on grain and silage maize varieties. It is not used in sweet and gin varieties. Against weeds that are a problem in these areas, it should be applied as post-emergence in the 2-6 leaf periods of weeds and corn plants. Tembotrione, one of the active ingredients of Capreno® SC 547, interrupts the production of caroteniod in the plant. Therefore, since the plant does not have the necessary amount of chlorophyll for photosynthesis, excessive sunlight causes chlorophyll oxidation in the plant. Thus, it causes the death of sensitive weed species. Thiencarbazone-methyl-sodium, the other active ingredient in the product, is an acetolactate synthetase (ALS) enzyme inhibitor and is effective by blocking amino acid synthesis in plants. The application should be done in a calm and windless weather with 20-40 L of water per decare. During the application, the transport of the pesticide to the neighboring fields should be prevented. For maximum effect, a good coating should be made with the right application. Application can be made with field sprayer or back sprayer. Fan nozzles should be used in applications (11002-11003) and the pressure should be 3 atm. Applications should be made after morning dew or in the afternoon. Postpone the application under stress conditions caused by heat and drought.

INFORMATION ABOUT RESISTANCE

The crop protection product Capreno® SC 547 is a herbicide classified as B F2 according to its mechanism of action. Repeated applications of plant protection products with the same mechanism of action encourage the development of resistance. Therefore, in order to delay the development of resistance, do not exceed the total number of applications recommended for Capreno® SC 547 in the same production season. In cases where the application needs to be repeated, pay attention to the use of plant protection products with different mechanism of action (except Group B F2).

CAPRENO® SC 547

Capreno® SC 547, which opens a new page in corn weed control, provides strong control against many narrow and broad-leaved weeds. Capreno® SC 547 is unique because it is applied in the 2-6 true leaf stage of the corn and it offers effective control with a single application, while saving labor and time.

  • Capreno® SC 547, which is applied in the early period which is critical for productivity, prevents weed pressure in the corn plant and contributes to the increase in yield.
  • Since the weed density decreases in the areas where Capreno® SC 547 is applied, it allows the moisture rate to be removed faster in the corn, which allows for early harvest.
